NDC to hold dialogue on 24-hour economic policies and other key issues
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to lead a national policy dialogue to fine-tune his campaign promise of a 24-hour economy.
A press statement indicates that party leadership and the NDC Social Democracy LAB, a policy think tank, will be key participants in the dialogue scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
“The Policy Dialogue is in preparation towards the 2024 manifesto development process and will propel grounds for a strategic, efficient and lean government come January 2025”, the release of the NDC Social Democracy LAB stated.
Details of the implementation of a 24-hour economy, seeking to create job opportunities for the youth, are yet to be made public.
Already, there is a promise to introduce tax incentives and reduce electricity costs for companies signing up for the policy.
Flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama, who has been preaching the policy on the NDC’s “Building Ghana Tour”, has indicated details on the policy will be released in the party’s 2024 manifesto.
Nonetheless, the policy continues to catch on with the electorates. Other proposals to transform the economy will also be discussed by the 200 experts who will participate in the dialogue.
Other participants include the Minority Caucus of Parliament and the Social Democratic LAB thematic groups comprising of Human Development; Finance and Economy; and Governance.
