New technologies will drive the 24-hour Economic Policy – John Mahama

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, John Dramani Mahama, says technology and digitalization will be essential components of his 24-hour Economic Policy when voted into power. He acknowledged the importance of Technology in enhancing productivity and efficiency of human resources in the workspace.  

Mr. Mahama said his administration will seriously adopt Artificial Intelligence, AI, in industry and all areas of the economy to give the country a more global pedestal. The former President was speaking on day-2 of the ongoing 75th New Year School and Conference in Accra.

The Flagbearer of the NDC, Former President John Dramani Mahama arrived at the University of Ghana grounds which is hosting the 75th New Year School and Conference amidst cheers and chants from students and participants of the conference. 

In his address, Mr. Mahama acknowledged the importance of technology in national development, saying that it is the surest way to positioning the country among the developed global bracket.

He reminded Ghanaians of the NDC administration’s belief in technology by first setting up the National Communications Authority, NCA, and GIFEC among others years ago to regulate and develop the use of technology in every sector of the economy. 

Former President Mahama promised to make technology, especially A.I. , an integral part of his 24-hour economy agenda if he assumes office to give the country’s development a global outlook.

Answering questions from the crowd, Mr. Mahama promised to abolish the Article 75 Office holders’ salary structure so that there will be equality in remuneration on the labour front.

He also said his government would review the implementation of certain policies in the education sector to make it more robust.
